Dr. Konadu-Agyemang was a Professor of Geography and Planning at The University of Akron. His research and publications focused principally on African economic development, urban problems, and population migration. He authored or co-authored over 20 journal articles, 12 book chapters, and 4 books including The Political Economy of Housing and Urbanization in Africa (2000). He was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church. The Kwadwo Konadu-Agyemang Distinguished Africa Scholar Award was created by the Africa Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers in honor of Dr. Konadu-Agyemang.
